The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department signed a warrant for the arrest of their fellow police officer Randall Kerrick who is charged with voluntary manslaughter after he shot and killed unarmed 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell. He was arraigned this morning. And this all started on Saturday when dead victim Jonathan Ferrell was seeking help after being in a car wreck.
Ferrel was in some type of car accident when he escaped from his car and attempted to find help. He found a nearby house and began to knock and bang on the door, but the woman who answered the door was scared because she did not know who he was and she proceeded to call the cops. Ferrell was running towards the cops when one of the officers tased him (and because he didn’t go down) the other officer allegedly shot him dead. The crazy thing about this story is that the officer allegedly shot him 12 times ultimately bringing him to his death. The question is, why would you shoot him 12 times, that’s just excessive. Nonetheless the officer turned himself in once a warrant was issued and was out on a $50,000 bond. We will keep up to date with how this story pans out. But for the mean time that’s just another innocent young black aspiring man dead.
